TeleAI

How to download your own social media history

To answer the way you do, TeleAI needs to read your past posts and replies. The platforms give this data to the account owner. Here is how to get it, step by step. You do not need all three: whichever platforms you use are enough.

Before you start

  • The person doing this must own or fully manage the account and know its password.
  • About 15 minutes per platform, plus waiting for the file to be prepared (minutes to a few days).
  • A computer: Telegram's export only exists in the desktop app.
  • Never send us any password, and never send the files by chat or email; upload them only on the website.

Rough timing

  • Instagram: minutes to a few days
  • Telegram: immediate
  • X: usually one to a few days

1. Instagram

  1. In the Instagram app, log in with the page admin account.
  2. Open your profile, tap the menu (☰) and open Accounts Center.
  3. Your information and permissions, then Download your information.
  4. Download or transfer information, choose the account, then Some of your information.
  5. Tick only: Posts, Reels and Comments.
  6. Choose Download to device. Date range: All time. Format: JSON (it must be JSON, not HTML). Media quality does not matter.
  7. Submit. Instagram emails you when the file is ready. Open the link, enter your password and download the zip file; the link works for a few days.
  8. Upload that zip file unopened on the Your business page, in the Instagram card.

✓ Captions of your posts and reels, and the comments your account wrote elsewhere (including your replies).

The comments your audience left under your posts are not in this file. They are read through the official account connection, which is the next step.

2. Telegram

  1. Open Telegram Desktop on a computer and log in with the channel admin account.
  2. Open the channel. Menu (⋮) at the top, then Export chat history.
  3. Untick every media option (photos, videos, files, voice messages, stickers...). Set Format to Machine-readable JSON and the date range to the beginning.
  4. Press Export. A folder is created with a file result.json inside. Zip the folder, or upload result.json itself.
  5. Do the same for the channel's discussion group (the group where comments gather). Note your account's name as it appears in that group.
  6. Upload both exports in the Telegram card on the Your business page. For the group export, type your account's name in the box provided.

✓ Every post of the channel. From the channel's discussion group: the audience's comments next to your replies. This is the best export for learning how you answer.

Media (photos, videos, files) is not read; text only.

3. X

  1. On x.com, log in with the main account.
  2. More, then Settings and privacy, then Your account, then Download an archive of your data.
  3. Enter your password and confirm the code sent to your email or phone. Press Request archive.
  4. It usually takes one to a few days; X notifies you. Download the zip and open it.
  5. In the data folder find tweets.js (if there are several parts: tweets-part1.js and so on; zip them together).
  6. Upload only that file in the X card on the Your business page. The full archive is hundreds of megabytes and not needed.

✓ Your account's own posts and replies.

Other people's replies and comments are not in it.

What happens to the files

  • Only your business account on TeleAI can see them.
  • Other people's names and handles are removed before anything is stored; only text and date remain.
  • You can remove a source at any time, or delete the whole account with all its data.
  • We never use your password and never ask for it.

Common questions

Do I need all three platforms?
No. Give what you have; the more history, the closer the replies are to your style.

The file is too big.
Media was selected, or the full archive was sent. The upload limit is 60 MB; without photos and videos it is usually a few MB.

The buttons differ from your description.
Platforms change menus. Search the platform's own help for "download your data".

I got an error.
Send us a screenshot and the platform's name.
